Manchester United legend Gary Neville has predicted the starting XI ahead of the Europa League final clash with Spanish La Liga outfit Villarreal. According to the former Red Devils skipper, the starting line-up against Fulham in the Premier League on Tuesday would be similar to the starting line-up for the Villarreal game next week Wednesday.
Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes and Mason Greenwood started in the three attacking positions in the game against already-relegated Fulham at the Theatre of Dreams on Tuesday and Gary Neville says that the three players would most likely retain their spots for the Europa League final.
On the player to replace club skipper Harry Maguire if the England international is not fit for the Europa League final next week, Gary Neville says manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would most likely opt for Axel Tuanzebe ahead of Eric Bailly as he can function well on the left side of the central defence just like he did against Fulham. The Sky Sports pundit said the inclusion of Tuanzebe in the starting XI ensures that Victor Lindelof retains his place on the right side of the central defence.
Manchester United boss Solskjaer was left disappointed after his team could only play a 1-1 draw at home to Fulham in what was their final home match this season. Fulham right-back Joe Bryan scored the Fulham equaliser in the second half after EdinsonCavani had given the hosts the lead with a fantastic strike in the first half. The point gained was enough to seal second place in the league this season.
