Valencia’s winless streak has reached 8 games

It’s been less than 4 months since Gary Neville was appointed as the head coach of Valencia but his time in charge of the Spanish team could already be reaching it’s end as Neville has not been able to secure a single league win since taking charge of the club back in December of 2015.

So far, all the results that Neville has sealed have been either draws or defeats and their latest result hasn’t been a good one as they lost against the relegation threatened team Sporting Gijon.

This match was played in the home ground of Valencia in the Mestalla Stadium and even though it was the team of Gary Neville that managed to have the upper hand in terms of possession and total shots that were shots, they failed to actually score and a 2nd half penalty goal from Antonio Sanabria of Sporting Gijon was enough for the visiting team to claim the victory and collect all 3 points.

With this hugely surprising result and underwhelming performance, it’s now being rumored that Gary Neville is on the brink of being sacked as the fans and the head chiefs of the Spanish club have lost their patience and trust in Neville who hasn’t managed to win a single league match since taking charge of the club and this is something that Valencia can’t afford to do as they are continuously dropping points.

When Gary Neville was asked about the defeat that his team sustained against Sporting Gijon and why did they lost after having controlled the game for such a long period of time, Neville replied by saying that he was stunned and surprised about the final result.

“I’ve just sat there with some of the players and some of the coaching staff for 15 minutes trying to work out what just happened. We were the better team from the first minute to the last minute’’ Gary Neville said and he continued on saying that this result was the most disappointing that he has suffered in the entire season so far.
